Calling all Young Artists!

315Mom and the Everson Museum of Art are teaming up to celebrate creativity in Central New York. Show us your imagination and artistic skills for a chance to have your artwork published in 315Mom Magazine and put on display in the Everson Museum of Art! 

Entry Guidelines

  • Paper Size: All artwork must be created on 8.5” x 11” paper.

  • Mediums: Artwork must be 2D only. Accepted materials include: Marker, crayon, colored pencil, pencil, pastel, acrylic paint, watercolor, or charcoal.

  • No 3D materials (no collage, glitter, glued objects, fabric, or mixed media that adds texture or dimension).

  • Each entry must be the artist’s own original, hand-created work. No AI-generated or AI-assisted artwork is allowed.

  • Upload a clear photo or scan of the final artwork using the form below. Winners will later deliver originals to the Everson Museum.

Age Categories

Entries will be judged in three age group categories:

  • Ages 4-8

  • Ages 9-13

  • Ages 14-18

Judging Criteria

  • Submissions will be judged based on creativity, originality, connection to the prompt, and use of materials.

Prizes & Recognition

  • One winning artwork will be selected per age group category.

  • Winners will be chosen by the Everson Museum of Art team.

  • Winning pieces will be featured in a 315Mom issue and put on display at Everson Museum of Art according to the timelines listed below. 

Additional Rules

  • Only one entry per student.

  • By entering, artists and their parents/guardians grant permission for 315Mom and the Everson Museum of Art to reproduce or display the artwork for promotional purposes.

  • If artwork is selected, the winner must drop off artwork to the Everson Museum of Art for display within the indicated timeframe. 

  • The judges’ decisions are final.

Contest Prompts and Submission Timeline

March/April 2026:

  • The Heart of My Community — What makes your town, school, or neighborhood special?

  • Deadline for Entries: January 26th

  • Artwork Selection: February 2nd for publishing in the March/April issue of 315MOM

  • Artwork Display: Wednesday, March 4th – Sunday, May 3rd at the Everson Museum of Art

May/June 2026:

  • Filling My Cup — Show the things that make you feel loved, rested, and full of energy.

  • Deadline for Entries: March 23rd

  • Artwork Selection: March 30th for publishing in the May/June issue of 315MOM

  • Artwork Display: Wednesday, May 6th – Sunday, June 28th at the Everson Museum of Art

July/August 2026:

  • My Favorite Outdoor Spot — Draw the place that makes you happiest to be outside.

  • Deadline for Entries: May 25th

  • Artwork Selection: June 1st for publishing in the July/August issue of 315MOM

  • Artwork Display: Wednesday, July 1st – Sunday, August 30th at the Everson Museum of Art

FAQ

  • No framing or mat needed! The Everson Museum Art will take care of framing/matting if your artwork is selected to be displayed.

  • Absolutely! Anyone in the Central New York Area is eligible to apply between the ages of 4-18.

  • 315MOM will email and call the winner’s parent or guardian.

  • Please only submit one piece of artwork per prompt/theme.
